Harvest Hope Emergency Food Pantry FAQs
- What do I need to bring with me?
-
In order to receive government commodity food, you must go to a pantry in the county where you reside. You’ll also need to present your picture ID and birthdays for everyone in the household. If you do not reside in the same county as the pantry, you will receive donated food only.
- Do I need an appointment?
-
Nope! You can come anytime during our hours of operation, usually from 9 am to 1 pm on weekdays. We are closed the last business day of every month for inventory.
CSFP Days:
- Midlands branch - the second Thursday of each month is reserved for CSFP clients only. We encourage clients who do not receive CSFP boxes to come on another day.
- Upstate branch - the second Tuesday of each month is reserved for CSFP clients only. We encourage clients who do not receive CSFP boxes to come on another day.
- How much food will I get?
-
You'll get 5-6 days worth of non-perishable and perishable groceries such as fruit, vegetables, bread, meat, and dried goods. We follow strict safety guidelines, so you can be confident serving your family any food you receive from us. We occasionally have personal care supplies in addition to food for clients who need them.
- How often can I come?
-
You can come once every 30 days, but we can also connect you with partner agencies if you need food more often. At our Upstate branch we also assist clients in filling out Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) applications.

Help us help them.
Almost 700,000 people in South Carolina struggle with hunger and food insecurity. An unexpected job loss or medical issue can quickly become a financial emergency. People need a way to meet their most basic human needs while they cope with a crisis – otherwise, there’s a chance that poverty could become permanent and entrenched.
