Farm Bureau Insurance Donates 200,000 Meals to Harvest Hope’s COVID-19 Response

Columbia, S. C. (April 27, 2020) – Farm Bureau Insurance announced today the company will be donating 200,000 meals to support Harvest Hope Food Bank’s COVID-19 crisis response efforts in the Midlands and Upstate. This donation is part of a $2.3 million commitment from Farm Bureau Insurance to local food banks across the company’s six-state operation. 

This donation comes at a time when Harvest Hope is feeding thousands of South Carolinians each week. Reaching a milestone this week, the food bank has served 50,000 individuals since the start of this pandemic.

“With strong ties to   agriculture, Farm Bureau Insurance knows what it takes to grow, harvest and supply food across our state,” says Harvest Hope CEO Wendy Broderick. “With this donation, they are able to take it a step further and put the food into the hands of those who are in need.”

“We’ve made a promise to our policyholders to be there when it matters most and are honored to partner with Harvest Hope and food banks throughout South Carolina to provide some relief to those who are suffering,” said Susan Merrill, Farm Bureau Insurance director of marketing.
