Harvest Hope Food Bank Receives $20,000 Donation for Rural Food Distributions
April 17, 2023
Harvest Hope Food Bank received a $20,000 donation from the Darlington Community Foundation to help increase access to healthy, nutritious foods for individuals residing in Darlington County.
“We’re incredibly thankful for this donation provided by our friends Darlington Community Foundation,” said Erinn Rowe, Harvest Hope CEO. “The foundation realizes how important it is that those in rural areas of the Pee Dee have access to the food they need to thrive, and their support and partnership is greatly appreciated.”
The Darlington Community Foundation’s vision is to create a sustainable impact within Darlington County and the surrounding areas by addressing local issues and providing for community needs throughout responsible giving – which directly aligns with the work that Harvest Hope is accomplishing through the expansion of equitable food access in the Pee Dee.
Harvest Hope relies on the generosity and support from organizations like the Darlington Community Foundation to help fund and expand the various food programs focusing on children, seniors, those living in food deserts, and more. Without the support Harvest Hope receives from donors, the impact made through this necessary work would not be accomplished.
The donation will be used to increase access to nutritious foods for individuals through Harvest to Home meal kits, which allow families to create healthy meals sustainably.
