SCDVA partners with Harvest Hope for first statewide Thanksgiving food drive to support Veteran families in need

The South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs’ (SCDVA) in partnership with Harvest Hope Food Bank is excited to announce its 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for Veterans aimed at providing essential food items to Veterans and their families facing hunger. This is the first year that this joint food drive will expand across the state of South Carolina, servicing the Midlands, Pee Dee, and Upstate areas. The food drive will run from Monday, November 11, 2024 to Friday, November 22, 2024.

This community-driven initiative is designed to support Veterans and their families in need during the holiday season and ensure that no family goes without access to nutritious meals.

1 lb. Bags of Rice

Macaroni & Cheese

1 lb. Boxes of Pasta

Peanut Butter

1 lb. Bags of Dried Beans

Cereal

Canned Vegetables

Ramen Noodles (Packs)

Canned Fruits

Boxed, Single-Serve Breakfast Items (Oatmeal, Grits, Granola Bars)

Canned or Pouch Proteins (Chicken/Tuna)

Single-Serve, Pop-top Meals (Chef Boyardee, Mac & Cheese, Beef Stew)

Canned Beans

How to Help:

  • Donate: Drop off non-perishable food items at any of the following collection sites:
    • SCDVA Headquarters, 1800 Saint Julian Place, Suite 305, Columbia, SC 29204
    • Upstate Warrior Solution, 770 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC 29615
    • Florence Business & Technology Center, 181 E. Evans Street, Florence, SC 29506
  • Monetary Donations/ Virtual Shopping Cart: Financial contributions are also accepted to help purchase food for the drive. Virtual shopping for food items is also accepted. Monetary donations and virtual shopping can be completed at SCDVA Thanksgiving Food Drive Fundraising Campaign for Harvest Hope Food Bank.

All donations received will be given to Harvest Hope Food Bank on Monday, November 25 at 11 a.m. with a press announcement regarding the amount of food donated during the food drive.
